Are mini Aussies difficult to train?
On average, most Mini Aussies are intelligent dogs that are relatively easy to train. One way to help the training process go more smoothly is to begin training the day you bring your dog home.
What is the lifespan of a mini Aussie?
Mini Aussie lives on average between 12 and 13 years. Some easily reach 15 and beyond. Remember that this dog was selectively bred to this size, which may have inadvertently set the stage for a greater propensity of heritable health conditions that could affect the breed's lifespan.
Do they bark a lot?
Compared to many other smaller dog breeds, most Mini Australian Shepherds don't bark that much. They have a quieter and calmer demeanor than many other small dogs. They will bark to alert, but in general are not excessive barkers.
Are they hard to potty train?
These dogs usually potty train fairly easily. They pick on commands quickly and usually do a good job of listening to their owners. Of course, you will need to do more work on your part to successfully potty train a puppy! We start the process for you.
Do they make good family companions?
They do sometimes tend to pick a favorite person, but are generally affectionate to their entire families. A working dog at heart, the Aussie has a built-in affinity for herding. Setting boundaries with children and puppy can result in the most loyal family companion.

Are male or female mini Aussies better?
As a general rule, there is are no major personality differences between male and female. Although a lot of myths about the benefits of one sex of puppy over another. Both males and females make great companions and/or family members and that each dog will be an individual. It is best to choose temperament over gender.

Are mini Aussies good indoor dogs?
Yes! Like most dogs, Mini Aussies are active and outdoorsy, but still best suited to indoor living. We have dogs in apartment complexes, working ranches and everything in between. Let us help match you with the right puppy to suit your lifestyle.
